
Captains Keating and Auer Combine for Three of BGSU's Seven First Place Finishes

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Senior captain Caroline Keating and sophomore teammate Alisha Yee each took top honors twice for the Falcons (0-2-0, 0-2-0) as the host Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-0-0, 2-0-0) defeated BGSU 162-128. Junior captain Jill Auer won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 217.50. Rookie Chelsea Lopus won her first conference dual meet event with her final time of 59.76 in the 100 fly.
Eastern Michigan narrowly took the first event with their 1:48.69 mark in the 200 medley relay as the Falcon team of Yee, Meg Richardson, Lopus and Jennifer Wright finished in 1:48.98 for second place.
Keating then took the 1000 free in 10:30.39. Junior Traci Eversoll earned a fourth with her time of 10:53.29.
Yee and senior captain Brit O'Conner earned second and third place in the 100 back while Lopus and Keating finished in second and third in the 200 fly.
Sophomore Diver Ashley Belrose earned third place off the 1-meter diving board with her score of 211. 58. It was the second time in as many meets that Belrose earned a third place ranking.
Yee went on to win the 200 back in the 10th event in a time of 2:07.94 beating EMU's Leeza Moser by almost three minutes. Keating won the 12th event with her 500 free time of 5:10.75.
BGSU won the final four events starting with Lopus and Auer's victories. Yee then capped off her successful weekend with a first place finish in the 200 IM two minutes before her competition.
The Falcons ended the meet on a high note with their win over the Eagles in the 400 free relay. Keating anchored the relay as Wright, Frankie Houck and Richardson won the event.
Bowling Green will return to the pool on November 4 to battle the Ohio University Bobcats. Events will begin at 1:00 p.m.
