Falcons Head to Wildcat Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University tennis team heads to Evanston, Ill., to compete in this weekend's Wildcat Invitational. The three-day, 11-team tournament runs from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 6-8.
Northwestern University is the host of the invite, which features three other teams from the Big Ten Conference. Play begins Friday at 8:30 a.m. locally (9:30 a.m. Eastern), while competition starts at 9:00 a.m. (10:00 a.m. Eastern) both Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the Falcons and the host Wildcats, the invitational field includes DePaul, Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Indiana State, Iowa State, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.
Head coach Penny Dean's nine-woman squad features four Illinois natives. That list includes junior Jenna Nussbaum (Glenview, Ill.), sophomore Stefanie Menoff (Naperville, Ill.) and both of the team's freshmen, Katia Babina (Glenview, Ill.) and Samantha Kintzel (Libertyville, Ill.).
The Wildcat Invitational is the last fall tournament for the Falcons as a team. Selected BGSU players will wrap up the fall season at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships (Oct. 19-24 in East Lansing, Mich.).
