Women's Golf Signs Four

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's golf coach Stephanie Young has announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Joining the Falcons for the 2007-08 season will be DeOnna Anderson (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Megan Bader (Lima, Ohio), Lauren Glew (Gibsonia, Penn.) and Marisa Glew (Gibsonia, Penn.).
"I am looking forward to coaching these talented student-athletes," said Young. "They have demonstrated their abilities on the course, in the classroom and in their communities. They are a great fit for our program and will have many opportunities for success at Bowling Green State University."
Anderson was an All-State Honorable Mention for the state of Michigan, while also serving as a three-time team captain. She will be graduating from East Kentwood High School this May.
"DeOnna is an outstanding all around athlete," said Young. "She is a tough competitor with a relentless work ethic. DeOnna is going to be a great addition to our program."
Bader, the younger sister of Amanda Bader, who is a current junior on the women's golf team, finished 17th at state earlier this year. She will be graduating from Lima Central Catholic High School.
"Megan is a fierce competitor, who is tournament tested," said Young. "She understands how to attack a golf course and has a lot of potential to do great things here at BGSU."
Lauren Glew finished sixth at the Pennsylvania State tournament this year, while also assisting as a three-time team captain. She earned medalist honors at her Regional tournament with a 69. She has had numerous top finishes in national events and was named Tri-State Player of the Year in 2003. He will be graduating from Mars Area High School this year.
"Lauren has established herself as one of the top players in the state," said Young. "Her playing experience and success on the national and state levels will be a welcome addition to our squad."
Marisa Glew, the twin sister of Lauren, finished 12th in the PIAA tournament this fall and sixth in 2005. She has several top finishes in national events, while also serving as a three-time captain with her sister. She will be graduating from Mars Area High School this year.
"Marisa is a great golfer, who has really matured as a player throughout this tournament season," said Young. "She knows what it takes to win and be successful. We are proud to have her as part of our program."
