BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Legendary football coach and ESPN commentator Lou Holtz entertained a crowd of more than 420 at a benefit luncheon for the Sebo Athletic Center today at Perry Field House on the BGSU campus. Holtz was in town to call the BGSU/Miami game and the East Liverpool, Ohio native played against Bob Sebo, a native of Salem, in high school.
"We appreciate Coach Holtz taking time out of his busy schedule to help raise funds for the Sebo Athletic Center," said BGSU Assistant V.P/Director of Athletics Greg Christopher. "He is one of the most engaging public speakers and we were delighted when he agreed to help us with this project."
The luncheon raised more than $15,000 for the center which is scheduled to open up later this academic year. The facility will include office space, meeting rooms, a strength and conditioning center and an updated athletic training area.
Holtz is part of the broadcast team that also includes Rece Davis, Mark May and sideline reporter Rob Stone.
