Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green State University junior center Kory Lichtensteiger is one of 22 players named to the 2006 Academic All-MAC football team by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives. To be selected, players must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
The Van Wert, Ohio native has a 3.5 GPA and is majoring in criminal justice.
Lichtensteiger, who was nominated for the 2006 Rimington Award given annually to the nation's top center, was a first-team All-MAC selection in 2006. He started all 12 games for the Falcons at center and helped BGSU finish second in the conference in rushing. He helped freshman running back Chris Bullock set a school record for rushing yards by a first-year Falcon and his unit also allowed the third fewest sacks in the conference.
He was a second team All-MAC pick in 2004 and 2005.
