Baseball Begins Season This Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head Coach Danny Schmitz and the Bowling Green baseball squad will hop on the bus and head to Kentucky this Saturday for a double-header against Murray State at noon. The Falcons and 'Breds will finish up the three-game series Sunday afternoon (Feb. 26).

Schmitz begins his 16th season at the helm for the Brown and Orange. The Falcons return 21 letterwinners from last season's 33-18 team, including five seniors and 11 juniors. Co-captains Tyler Wasserman and Eric Lawson look to lead BGSU during the 2006 campaign.
Bowling Green started last season with a series against Murray State as well. After splitting the first two games, the Falcons captured the series victory with a win in the game-three rubber match, 10-5.
Head Coach Rob McDonald's 'Breds were picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll and sit at 0-1 after suffering an 11-0 defeat against Arkansas State on Feb. 22.
