Newcomers Score in 5-2 Loss

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - In the first of three road tests, the Falcons (1-3) fell to Indiana State (3-1), 5-2. Freshmen Kelsey Jakupcin and Stefanie Menoff secured wins and the points for BGSU at the No. 5 and No. 6 Singles flights. Jakupcin is now on a three match win streak in the No. 5 slot.
Menoff recorded her first win in two sets, 6-2, 6-0, over Imane Lahlou while Jakupcin fought through two consecutive 6-4 sets.
Although the Orange and Brown did not win the doubles point, the combination of Heidi Romer and Kelsey Jakupcin defeated Fadzai Masiyazi and Imane Lahlou in an 8-2 match.
"All of the matches were a battle, we can take what we learned from today and it will only help us get better," said Dean.
The Falcons will have the chance to apply this knowledge against Butler as they take the Bulldogs on in the Butler Tennis Bubble at 1:00 p.m.
