Falcons Narrowly Miss Fourth Place Tie With Eagles

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University's women's tennis program was narrowly chosen to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference behind Eastern Michigan. A single vote separated the squads in the MAC preseason poll.
The Broncos of Western Michigan were selected to win it all with 73 total votes, eight of which being first place votes. Miami University's RedHawks were not far behind the Broncos with 71 overall votes including a first place nod.
Just six votes separated third place Buffalo (56) from Eastern (51) and BGSU (50). Ball State was projected to finish sixth with Northern Illinois, Toledo and Akron rounding out the conference.
Bowling Green returns All- MAC selection Ashley Jakupcin who is currently serving at the No. 1 Singles and Doubles slots.
The Falcons will begin MAC play March 24 when they host the Zips of Akron in Bowling Green. The match at Keefe Court will begin at 1:00 p.m. The following day the Orange and Brown will play host to the Buffalo Bulls at 1:00 p.m.
