YPSILANTI, Michigan - Bowling Green dropped to 9-9 overall and 1-1 in the Mid American Conference after dropping game one of the Sunday double header at Eastern Michigan. Juniors Eric Lawson and Kurt Wells were the only Falcons recording hits, picking up two apiece in the 2-1 defeat.
After falling behind 2-0, the Falcons cut the deficit in half with a score in the eighth. A pair of past balls allowed Frehman Ryan Shay to reach third base. Wells followed with an RBI-single to left field, Bowling Green's only run of the game.
Eagle starting pitcher Jeff Fischer threw a complete game, allowing one run, four hits, three walks while striking out nine Falcon batters. For BGSU, Freshman Brian Hangbers lowered his season ERA to 3.07 with 3.1 innings of scoreless relief. Junior Greg Becker (3-2) was burdened with the loss after allowing two runs in 4.2 innings pitched.
