BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Coach Fred Thompson and staff have added Jacob Lawrence to their growing roster. The 6-2 defender/midfielder has won three consecutive MHSAA 1A-3A State Championships (2003-05) and was a state runner-up in 2006.
Lawrence was selected MHSCA All-State Second Team 2004 and 2005 and is expected to receive multiple honors for 2005-2006.
"Jacob has great size and mobility along with exceptional feet for a big man. What's exciting about him is that he is both dependable and goal oriented," said Thompson.
"He has the physical tools to compete immediately and I expect him to grow and thrive in this college environment. Jacob can play in the back or in the midfield. He could easily step in and make an impact right away."
Lawrence was a member of Jackson Futbol Club where he was team captain from 1999 through 2006. He helped the team to two State Cup Championships (2004 & 2005), two Region IIl Quarterfinals (2004 & 2005) and two SuperClubs Southern Regional Championships (2002 & 2004).
Academically, Lawrence was a member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society as well as the National Honor Society.
