The Bowling Green State University women's golf team, host of the 2006 Mid-American Conference Championships, is currently sitting in eighth-place after 36 holes of competition at Walden Ponds Golf Club in Indian Springs, Ohio. The Orange and Brown posted a team score of 325-322-647.
The Falcons were led by sophomore Jessica McCann the first 18 holes. The Mason, Ohio, native shot a 75, a MAC-best, which also matches her career-low.
The second 18 holes saw fellow classmate Carley Hrusovsky shoot a career-best 73. After firing an 87 to open the tournament the sophomore set a Mid-American Conference Tournament record by posting a 14 shot improvement from round one to round two.
As a team McCann was the top finisher (75-83-158, T19th). She was followed by Hrusovsky (87-73-160, T-27th), Amanda Bader, who was battling an ankle injury, (82-83-165, 37th), Amanda Schroeder (84-83-167, 38th) and Kari Liggett (84-86-170, 40th).
Day two of the Championships begins at 8:00 a.m. Saturday (Apr. 29) with Bowling Green and Northern Illinois swinging the sticks first.
