BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Falcons will host their first nationally ranked team when No. 68 WMU visits Bowling Green, Ohio on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos will enter the match with a 13-5 over all record and are a perfect 4-0 in Mid-American Conference contests. The Falcons are 13-6 on the season and are an even 2-2 in the MAC. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Last week the Broncos shared a three-way tie for first place in the conference with the Falcons and the Miami RedHawks. With the win over MU, and two Falcon loses, the Broncos have taken over sole possession of the leader board.
Both the Falcons and the Broncos enter the match coming off losing matches. The Falcons dropped two heart-breaking 4-3 decisions at Ball State and Miami; the Broncos were overcome by the No. 43 Boliermakers of Purdue University, 5-2 on Wednesday.
"The girls have bounced back," said coach Penny Dean. "They are ready to move on."
Western Michigan will be the toughest opponent the Falcons will face in the MAC. To date they have lost just one singles match and two doubles matches in conference play.
"Against Western you have to fight for every point. There are no easy points but we know we can play with them," said Dean who credits the pressure to win to be largely on the side of the Broncos.
