Lawson and Brech Named to All-MAC Squad

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the 2006 All-MAC baseball team today (May 24). Bowling Green's Eric Lawson and Alan Brech were honored by the conference by being placed on the All-MAC Second Team. It marks the second all-conference award for each Falcon. Brech was a first team member in 2005 while Lawson made the second team following his freshman season in 2004.
Junior Eric Lawson finished among the top five in eight different statisical categories in conference play. His .469 overall on-base percentage was tops in the league this season. The Milford, Ohio native strung together a nine-game hitting streak (Mar. 29-Apr. 16) in which he batted at a .564 pace, driving home nine runs.
Junior Alan Brech's 2.69 ERA is the fifth best in the MAC at the end of the regular season. The southpaw averaged 6.70 innings of work per start during conference games. In a start against arch-rival Toledo on April 14th, Brech slashed his season ERA to 1.93 after hurling 8.0 innings without allowing an earned run.
