BGSU Hosts Falcon Classic

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The BGSU Men's soccer program will host the Falcon Classic soccer tournament August 25-27. Contending teams will include Eastern Illinois University, Western Illinois University, the University of Detroit, and host BGSU. Friday's matches will begin at 2:00 p.m. as the University of Detroit competes against Eastern Illinois. The Orange and Brown are scheduled to kick-off against Western Illinois at 4:00 p.m.
Sunday's first match-up will begin at noon as the University of Detroit takes on Western Illinois. In the final match, BGSU is scheduled to play Eastern Illinois at 2:00 p.m. Tournament awards will be announced after the second match and hardware will be distributed to the Tournament MVP, the All-Tournament Team and the tournament winner.

FALCON NOTES
•In the exhibition season the Falcons dropped a pair of decisions to Xavier University, 3-0, and the University of Dayton, 2-0.
•In 2005, the Falcons tied both of their opponents during the regular season. The Leathernecks of Eastern Illinois tied BGSU 1-1 at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Nike Tournament on Sept. 4, while the Western Illinois match ended in a 2-2 stalemate on Oct. 23.
•BGSU will face the University of Detroit in Detroit on Oct. 3 at 4:00 p.m.
•Bowling Green was recognized as one of the most improved teams in the NCAA for their efforts during the 2005 season. The Falcons posted a 4-13-2 record.
WEARING THE ORANGE AND BROWN
•Sophomore Justin Kim returns as the Falcons 2005 assist leader. Kim connected with four Falcon goals in his first collegiate season.
•Sophomore Paul Shoemaker is the most experienced keeper on the team and recorded 1507:04 in goal as a rookie.
•The Falcons welcome 13 rookies to the team to complement the 11 letter winners from the 2005 team that finished fifth in the Mid-American Conference.
