Sanderson Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green State University freshman free safety Jerett Sanderson was named MAC East Football Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against Florida International.
Sanderson, a native of Long Branch, N.J., picked off two passes in the final three minutes to stop go-ahead drives and scored on a fumble recovery in the second quarter against Florida International. He also had three tackles. Leading 33-28, Sanderson picked off a Josh Padrick pass in BGSU territory with 3:03 left. After the Golden Panthers got the ball back, Sanderson intercepted a pass in the end zone with 11 seconds left to seal the win.
