It was a cold, windy, rain soaked afternoon for the Bowling Green State University men's golf team, who sits in fourth-place among the 13-team field. The Falcons, who shot a 304 as a team, trail only Eastern Kentucky (288), Campbell University (294) and Ohio (296).
The tournament, which was scheduled for 36 holes this afternoon had the second 18 holes scrapped due to a two-hour delay during the first round.
Despite the rainy conditions, several Falcons battled through the elements to posted some solid scores. Dan McIntyre carded a 75 (38-37) and sits in a tie for 16th. Senior Jace Walker and junior Trevor Spathelf finished in a tie for 24th with a pair of 76's. Newcomers John Powers and Matt Schnieder posted a 77 and 78 respectively to round out the Falcons' scores.
The Falcons also had a "B Team" participate in the John Piper Intercollegiate, but their scores could not be considered for the overall team title. Junior Russell Goodwin shot a career-best 73 (36-37), while Brad Dearsman and Scott Blackburn each shot 76. Charles Seguin carded a 79, while freshman Andrew Ladwig shot 86.
The Falcons "B Team" also shot 304 and would be in a tie for fourth-place among the field.
The final round will be a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. at the Stoneridge Golf Club.
