The Bowling Green State University women's golf team's score of 324 after day one of the Laker Fall Classic, places them in sixth-place among the 19-team field. The tournament, which is being hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan, was the Falcons first round of the fall season.
The Orange and Brown were led by a trio of juniors. Amanda Bader, Lindsey Jonkhoff and Jessica McCann all shot opening round scores of 79. Bader, who shot a 44 on the first nine, closed with a sparkling 35 coming in. McCann (39-40) and Jonkhoff (41-38) took the more modest approach to their 79's.
Also seeing action was freshman Megan Gormley and senior Kari Liggett. Gormley, one of two newcomers on this year's squad fired an 87 (45-42), while Liggett posted a 90 (48-42).
Day two action will conclude Tuesday evening.
