TOLEDO, Ohio - BGSU softball pitcher Hayley Wiemer participated in an on-air stunt on the Andrew Z in the Morning show today to commemorate the opening day for the Toledo Mud Hens.
Wiemer, a Sylvania native, tossed softball's at Floyd the KISS FM intern. Today was Floyd's third day on the job.
To pull off the stunt, Floyd was wrapped in layers of bubble wrap and stood approximately 10-feet away from Wiemer in the entrance to downtown Toledo's Frickers restaurant where the broadcast was held. Wiemer then "lightly" tossed pitches at Floyd and repeatedly made contact.
Two of Wiemer's biggest fans, ABC's Rob Powers and Survivor's Rupert were also featured on the morning broadcast.
Jessica Buttler, Autumn Swartz and Danielle Devine of the cheerleading squad helped to wake Toledo up with their chants while trumpeters Erin DePeel, Mike Taras and Chris Coy serenaded the crew with "Ay Ziggy Zoomba", "Let's Get it Started" and "Forward Falcons."
