BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green softball program (25-6) has announced they will take on No. 9 Michigan in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, April 25, 2007. The single game is scheduled to have the first pitch thrown at 5:00 p.m.
"We are looking forward to traveling to Ann Arbor next week. It is always exciting to get an opportunity to play a nationally ranked opponent, especially one that is right up the road from you," said head coach Shannon Salsburg. "The team has been playing hard and is looking forward to the challenge of playing Michigan."
The Wolverines currently hold a 33-8 overall record with one of the eight losses coming at the hands of Mid-American Conference member Central Michigan on April 17. Michigan went on to split the two game series with the Chippewa's in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
Michigan will travel to Purdue and Indiana over the weekend before hosting the Falcons on Wednesday.
The bout with the Wolverines will replace the postponed outing at Rocky Top that was originally scheduled for April 11, 2007. Expected rain forced the Falcons to postpone their trip to No. 1 Tennessee.
The Falcons have strung together a 10-game win streak dating back to their Mar. 31 double header wins over MAC opponent Buffalo.
BGSU is 6-0 when playing opponents at their home dirt.
