The Bowling Green State University men's golf team had their best round of the tournament Friday afternoon, carding a 290, in round three of the 2007 Mid-American Conference Championships. Their best round showed in the standings, climbing the Falcons from ninth to seventh, with them trailing sixth by just two shots.
The 290 was the fourth-best team score of the afternoon.
Akron (844) continues to lead the tournament, followed by Eastern Michigan (849), Kent State (854), Ball State (862), Ohio (871), Toledo (884), BGSU (886), Miami (887) and Northern Illinois (888).
Contributing to the Falcons' low round of the tournament was that four the five Falcons either matched or set new weekend-bests in Friday afternoon's third round.
Freshman Matt Schneider recorded his second consecutive two-under 70, and currently sits in a tie for 14th at 216 (E).
Jace Walker had his best round of the weekend, firing a one under 71 on Friday. He currently is in a tie for 22nd after scoring 75-74 on day one.
John Powers (72) and Trevor Spathelf (76) also each shot weekend-bests. Overall Powers is tie for 32nd and Spathalf is in 43rd.
Freshman Andrew Ladwig carded a 77 this afternoon and is tie for 41st.
The fourth and final round begins at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
