
Falcons Fall to #17 Ohio

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Falcons drop their second straight MAC game losing to #17 Ohio, 3-0. The Falcons couldn't quite find their grove as they were plagued by errors the entire match hitting a season low .078 as a team. The Bobcats on other hand were able to get their offense going hitting a .340 for the night.
The Falcons were able to keep game one close until the Bobcats put together a five point run giving them game point, 29-19. The Falcons fought off two Bobcat game points but didn't have enough to come back losing game one, 30-21.
The Falcons fell victim to a six point Bobcat run early in game two giving Ohio a 11-6 lead. The Falcons fought back to come within two, 18-16, but the Bobcats wouldn't surrender their lead stringing together a seven point run and 25-16 lead. The Falcons dropped game two 30-18.
The Falcons tried to keep game three close at the beginning, but after two four point Bobcat runs, Ohio took a 20-11 lead. The Falcons continued to fight for ever point but weren't able to get more than a few points at a time. The Falcons lost game three 30-20.
The Bobcats were led by Stephanie Blackburn with 12 kills and Melissa Griffin with 11 kills and one error, hitting a .526.
Junior Meghan Mohr led the Falcons with 10 kills, hitting a .421. Mohr and Sam Fish took turns running the offense with Fish collecting 17 assists and Mohr recording 10 assists. Chelsey Meek led the Falcons' defense with 14 digs.
The Falcons now 10-7 overall and 2-2 in the MAC, return home for a five game stint in Anderson Arena where they will defend their undefeated home court. The Falcons taken on the IPFW Mastodons on Tuesday October 2 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
