The Falcons were on fire with three players in double digits. Leading the way with 15 kills a piece were Stephanie Swiger hitting a .414 and Corey Domek hitting a .444. Kendra Halm had 11 kills with only one error in 20 attempts hitting a season high .500 and five blocks. Mohr had seven kills for the night. Fish ran the Falcon offense collecting 47 assists and three kills with no errors. Defense was relentless with three players in double digits as well. "It felt good to play so well after this past weekend's matches," said BGSU Head Coach Denise Van De Walle. "We passed the ball better than we have in a long time. Sam did a great job spreading the ball around. We attacked very smart out of the middle. Both Kendra and Swiger were on fire. Then we had Domek crushing the ball on the outside. I thought we were tough to defend tonight. Chelsey had a great night in the backcourt picking up 24 digs. That's exactly what we want her to do. She has been so steady and stable for us. Defensively Meghan had a really good night. She had 15 digs. I'm happy to say it was a great night all the way around," said Coach Van De Walle.
This is the Falcons second sweep over the Mastodons this season, also giving the Falcons a 6-5 lead in the all-time series.
The Falcons will put their undefeated home court on the line once again when they host Akron on Friday (Oct. 5) at 7:00 p.m. and Buffalo on Saturday (Oct. 6) at 3:00 p.m. for the second and third matches of the BGSU home five game stretch.
