Falcons third after day one at Laker Fall Classic

Bowling Green State University senior Amanda Bader shot a 3-over, 75, as she sits in fifth place after round one of the Laker Fall Classic played at Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich. Four of Bader's Falcon teammates then sit within seven shots of the lead, as the Falcons lie in third place as a team at 22-over in the event hosted by Grand Valley State University.
Bader, who broke her previous career-low round of 76, shot a 37 on the front nine and a 38 on the back, as she sits three shots back of GVSU's Allie Tyler, who is currently even after the first 18 holes.
Senior Jessica McCann is sitting at 5-over, trailing her teammate by two strokes. She is joined by newcomer Lauren Glew who also shot a 77 in her first collegiate round. Glew shot a 37 on the back nine to improve from her modest 40 on the front.
Tied for 22nd are senior Carley Hrusovsky and sophomore Hannah Lambert. The duo finished their first rounds of the season at 79. After shooting a 41 on the front nine, Hrusovsky improved on her score by shooting a 38 on the back nine.
After one round freshman DeOnna Anderson sits at 13-over. Anderson shot a 44 on the front nine and a 41 on the back. Her score (85) ties her for 52nd after the first day.
The Falcons look to improve on their third place score today in the final round of the Laker Fall Classic before they compete in the MAC Preview in Indianapolis, Ind. on Sept. 10.
