Falcons Ninth After 36 Holes at Xavier Invitational

Despite playing some of their best golf of the fall season the Bowling Green State University men's golf team is in ninth-place after 36 holes of action at the Xavier Invitational. The Falcons, who carded a 574 (285-289) are just 14 strokes behind Eastern Kentucky, who leads the star-studded field after firing a 560.
The Falcons were led by junior Matt Schneider and freshman Parker Hewit, who both finished day one in a tie for 13th. Schneider opened with a 68, followed by a 72, while Hewit carded 71-69.
Also competing for the Orange and Brown were John Powers (145, T-35th), Drew Preston (150, 69th) and Bryan Mitchell (159, T-97th).
A total of 20 teams and 104 players competed on day one.
