Central Michigan fired right back to score another four points in a row and extend their lead to six points, 8-2 over the Falcons. The Orange and Brown were able to come back with a three-point run started by a kill from Kaitlin Jackson, to cut Central Michigan's lead to three, 10-7. The Falcons continued to fight but weren't able to score points in a row. The Chippewas scored the last four points of the set to win, 25-15.
The Falcons were able to get things started much quicker in the second set putting together an early three-point run, which included back-to-back kills from Kendra Halm and a service ace from Meghan Mohr, giving the Falcons a 3-1 lead. The Chippewas came back to score three straight points to take the lead, 8-7. The set remained close until Central Michigan was able to score consecutive three-point runs to extend their lead to six, 21-15 over the Falcons. BG dropped the second set 25-17.
Central Michigan took an early 10-5 lead in the third set after two four-point runs, but a kill from Corey Domek gave the Falcons side-out. However, the Chippewas continued to stay on the attack scoring five straight points to extend their lead to nine, 18-9. The Falcons never gave up rallying at the end of the third set posting three straight points but once again the Chippewas answered back with four points to secure match point, 24-15. The Falcons fought off two Central Michigan match points from a block by Luther and a service ace from Susie Isphording. BG didn't have quite enough to get past Central Michigan falling, 25-17.
The Falcons were led by Halm with 10 kills posting a .320 hitting percentage. Sam Fish recorded 21 assists, while Chelsey Meek led BG's defense with 11 digs.
