Falcons Nearly Set New School Record; Finish 14th at Rio Verde

RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished the 2008 Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in 14th place, carding a 941 through 54 holes of action. The Falcons' 941 (316-310-315) was just four shots off the all-time school record, which the Falcons shot last season at the same tournament.
Senior Jessica McCann had one of her best tournaments of the season, shooting a 224 in 54 holes. She opened the tournament with a 78-74 and finished with a career-low 72 on the final day of competition. She finished in a tie for 10th.
Freshman Lauren Glew shot 235 (79-74-72), finishing in a tie for 47th.
Rounding out the Falcons competitors were Amanda Bader (238, 62nd), Carley Hrusovsky (246, T-86th), Lindsey Jonkhoff (254, 99th) and Hannah Lambert (259, T-101). Up next for the Orange and Brown will be the Illini Spring Classic, set for April 4-5. Selected Falcons will also compete at the Thunder Invitational on April 5.
