Coach Salsburg and the Falcons to Hold Summer Softball Clinics

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - BGSU Head Coach Shannon Salsburg, assistant coach Lani Southwell and the Falcons will host four days of summer softball clinics in June focusing on pitching, defensive fundamentals, offensive hitting techniques and lefty slapping techniques. The sessions are open to all ages with the exception of the advanced pitching section, which is only open to high school players.
The pitching sessions will be held June 16 and will focus on pitching mechanics, drills. Session three of the pitching clinic is only open to high school players and will break down the mechanics of breaking pitches. All pitchers must bring someone to catch for them.
Defensive sessions will be held on June 17 and are open to all ages. There will be three different defensive sessions each focusing on different area of defensive. The first session will focus on outfield defense, the second session will focus on infield defense and the third session will breakdown the fundamentals of catching. All catchers must bring their own catching gear for the catching sessions.
The June 18 sessions will key in on the lefty slapping technique and the lefty short game, including various types of bunts and slaps.
The final hitting sessions will be held on June 19 and will break down the BGSU hitting technique focusing on increasing power and consistency.
Registration has already begun for all summer clinics with limited space for the hitting and lefty slapping sessions. The registration deadline is June 6, 2007.
