Falcons Sixth At Rutherford Intercollegiate After 36 Holes

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team fired back-to-back 306's to currently sit in sixth place among the 12-team field at the 2008 Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State University. Purdue leads the field (586), followed by Miami (594) and Penn State (597).
The RedHawks are the top team from the Mid-American conference following 36 holes of action with a score of 594. BGSU is in second among MAC schools with a 612, followed by Ball State (616, 10th) and Toledo (617, 11th).
Individually the Falcons are being led by freshman Drew Preston. In his first collegiate tournament Preston has carded a 75-72. His 36-hole score of 147 is tied for fifth among the 66 golfers.
He is followed by John Powers (73-79--152, T-21st), Matt Schneider (79-78--157, T-44), Bryan Mitchell (79-81--160, 53rd) and Parker Hewit (84-77-161, T-54th)
The Falcons will conclude the tournament on Tuesday morning.
