Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Cardinal Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team carded a final round score of 289 en route to a tenth-place finish at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by the University of Louisville. The Falcons, who fired a 54-hole score of 880 (302-289-289) had three golfers finish in the top 32 spots.
The Falcons were led by junior John Powers and freshman Parker Hewit. The duo finished in a tie for 28th with a 54-hole score of 218. Powers opened with a 73-68 and finished with a 77, while Hewis scored a 73-73-72 for his best collegiate outing.
Also competing for the Orange and Brown were Matt Schneider (219, T32), who carded a 69 on the final day of competition, Drew Preston (225, T-56th) and Chad Walker (236, 73rd).
A total of 78 golfers competed in the two-day event.
Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Loveland, Ohio, where they will compete in the Xavier Invitational on Oct. 13-14.
