Preston Named MAC Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - It didn't take long for Drew Preston to make his impact on the Bowling Green State University men's golf team, earning a league honor in his first-ever tournament with BGSU. The freshman from Ada, Michigan was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office, after carding a 218 at the rutherford Intercollegiate.
In his first career tournament Preston opened with a 75 in his first 18 holes with the Orange and Brown, but improved on each of the next two rounds, recording a 72-71 in the final 36-holes of action.
Overall Preston carded a 218 (75-72-71), finishing in a tie for third at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State.
Preston and the Falcons' next competition will be on Sept. 8-9 as they host the 2008 John Piper Intercollegiate.
