Falcons Host John Piper Intercollegiate, Starting Monday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will host the 2008 John Piper Intercollegiate, starting on Monday, September 8, at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. The 54-hole event will take place over two days (Sept. 8-9).
The Falcons are coming of a seventh-place finish at the Rutherford Intercollegiate last weekend where they carded a 54-hole score of 908 (306-306-296) among the 12-team field.
The Orange and Brown were led by freshman Drew Preston, who finished in a tie for third with a 54-hole score of 218. The BGSU newcomer opened with a 75, but closed with a roar, firing a 73 and 71 in the final 36 holes. Preston was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for his efforts.
John Power (227, T-24th), Matt Schneider (231, T-39th), Bryan Mitchell (236, T-48th) and Parker Hewit (240, T-55th) rounded out the Falcon five-some last weekend.

Tournament Info: 54 Holes of action (36 on Monday, 18 on Tuesday). The John Piper Intercollegiate will take place on Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. Monday's round will start at 8 a.m., while Tuesday's will start at 8:30 a.m.
