
Co-captains Richardson and Yee Maintain Morale in Loss to Toledo

Bowling Green, Ohio - Co-captains Meg Richardson and Alisha Yee keep the Falcons alive in 180-118 loss to I-75 rival, the Toledo Rockets. Richardson took a first and second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, respectively, while Yee took the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke as well as a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.
Freshman distance swimmer Megan Bomicino took two third places finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with times of 1:57.26 and 5:14.67.
Fellow freshman Vicky Yu also had a strong meet taking three fourth place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard butterfly.
Diving Falcons finished second, third and fourth in both the 1-meter dive as well as the 3-meter dive. Freshman Molly Wood took second with a score of 209.18 while fellow freshmen Katie Shannon and Stephanie Saliga followed in third and fourth, respectively. In the 3-meter dive, Shannon took second with a score of 209.85, followed closely by Wood and Saliga.
Falcon relays took second and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Carrie Enright, Meg Richardson, Frankie Houck and Sarah Reinick combined for the second place time of 1:38.06.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the Orange and Brown swam into third and fourth place finishes with times of 1:47.17 and 1:48.00.
All in all the Falcons finished the meet with three first place finishes, six second place finishes and five third places.
The swimming and diving Falcons will finish off their regular season with two home meets at Cooper Pool, February 6 and 7. The Falcons will then entertain MAC schools as the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships will be held at BGSU February 25-28.
