CMT (Country Music & Tennis): Falcons Head to Nashville for Belmont Fall Invite
October 22, 2009 | Women's Tennis
In addition to the Falcons and the host school, Chattanooga and Murray State will be participating in the tournament.
No team scores will be kept at the invitational, which is an informal round-robin event between the four schools. Over the two days, the Falcons will face each of the other three teams in both singles and doubles.
"We are excited about the trip to Nashville,” said Falcon head coach Penny Dean. “We are still experimenting with our doubles teams, so the Belmont Invitational will be a good chance for us to try a few different combinations before the fall schedule.
"On a side note, we have a number of country music fans in the program – including the head coach – so we are looking forward to experiencing the trip to Nashville for several reasons."
This weekend's tournament is the final fall event for the Falcons. Following the Belmont Fall Invitational, BGSU will be idle from competition until the 'spring' portion of the schedule begins in mid-January of 2010.
