CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Mid-American Conference announced today a 52-game men's and women's basketball league television package, which includes appearances on the ESPN Family of Networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360.com), FOX Sports Ohio, FOX Sports Detroit, FOX Sports Midwest, Big Ten Network, Time-Warner Sportsnet-Buffalo and Comcast Sports Net Chicago. The Bowling Green men's basketball team will appear on one of those stations a minimum of three times during the 2009-10 season.
Bowling Green's home game with Akron on Saturday, Feb. 27 will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net at 2:30 p.m. That will serve as the second game of a Fox Sports Net doubleheader from Anderson Arena as the women's home game against Kent State at noon will also be televised.
As well, two Bowling Green road contests will be televised. The Falcons' game at Xavier on Tuesday, Nov. 17 will be broadcast by FSN Ohio at 7:30 p.m. and the team's game at Iowa can be seen on the Big Ten Network on Friday, Nov. 20 at 9 p.m. Along with those television appearances, most Bowling Green home games can be seen locally on BCSN through the Buckeye Cable Network.
Michael Reghi will be joined by MAC Hall of Famer and former Toledo and Philadelphia 76ers standout Steve Mix as talent for the MAC men's basketball regional package, while the talent for the women's package will be announced at a later date.
This season the Mid-American Conference will have more of a presence than ever on the ESPN Family of Networks as nine men's basketball games will air on ESPNU, three games will be shown on ESPN2 and one game can be seen on ESPN360.com. Additionally, the field for the 2010 ESPNU BracketBusters event on Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21 will include all 12 Mid-American Conference schools.
