Kalamazoo, Mich. – The Western Michigan volleyball team hit .370 and defeated Bowling Green 25-19, 25-18, 25-17 Saturday evening. That swing percentage was the highest of the year by a Bowling Green opponent.

The Falcons got off to solid starts in all three sets, building an 8-5 lead in the opening stanza, a 14-12 lead in the second set, and an 11-8 lead in the third frame, but Western Michigan closed well each time.

Shari Luther led Bowling Green with 10 kills and had just one error in 18 swings for a .500 attack percentage. Kaitlin Jackson and Emily Kauth had eight kills apiece. Ashley Herzberg added a team-high nine digs.

Western Michigan improves to 12-7 on the year and 4-0 in MAC play with the win, while Bowling Green falls to 7-11 overall and 0-4 in conference. The Falcons will be back on the road next weekend to play at Ohio Friday night at 7 p.m. and at Kent State Saturday night at 7 p.m.
