Athens, Ohio – The Bowling Green State volleyball team dropped to 0-5 in Mid-American Conference play with a 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 loss to frontrunner Ohio Friday night.
Ohio hit .396 for the match, including attack percentages of .484 and .593 in the first two sets. The Falcons hit just .161 for the match but dig pick up 29 digs, the same total as the Bobcats.
Setter Allison Kearney had 25 assists and seven digs, while Emily Kauth had a team-high nine kills. Noelle Spitler had a team-high four blocks.
Ohio improves to 13-4 overall and 5-0 in MAC play while the Falcons drops to 7-12. Bowling Green will play at Kent State Saturday night at 7 p.m. It marks the first day of the Centennial Cup competition between the two athletic departments and the winner will get one point for its school.
