DAY ONE PLAYER STATS
After the first day's 36 holes at Penn State University's Nittany Lion Invitational, the Bowling Green State University women's golf team has some work to do to solidify a quality finish in their third tournament of the season.
Today, the Falcons placed 15th with a two-round score of 661 (333-328) on Penn State's par-72 Blue Course. Bowling Green is within earshot of the top ten in the 34th edition of the Penn State's home tourney. Columbia, Richmond, and Rutgers all share a tie for 10th place with a score of 638. Youngstown State is 13th with a team score of 642, while Bucknell carded a 646 for 14th place.
Rollins College leads the tournament after the first day, while host Penn State is fourth. Defending tournament champion William & Mary is tied for eighth.
Individually, Pennsylvania native and junior Lauren Glew posted the Falcons' low score of the day. Her score of 160 (82-78) tied her for 38th place.
Freshman Susannah Grunden also carded a sub-80 round today with a 79 in the first round; her total 163 puts her in a tie for 59th place out of 90 total competitors.
Seniors Hannah Lambert (169) and Megan Gormley (170), as well as junior Marisa Glew (174), completed the day's action for the Falcons.
The third and final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational will be held tomorrow beginning at 9:00am. Final tournament statistics and a recap will be posted at the conclusion of the round.
The Falcons will then immediately head to Fairlawn, Ohio for the 2009 Zippy Invitational, to be held on Monday and Tuesday.
