Susannah Grunden Took Home Zippy Invitational Championship on Tuesday

This afternoon, the Mid-American Conference named Bowling Green State University freshman Susannah Grunden as its Golfer of the Week.

On Tuesday, Grunden became the first Falcon to take home individual tournament medalist honors since the 2007-08 season, as she won the second annual Zippy Invitational. That season was also the last time a Falcon was named as the MAC Golfer of the Week. During the 2007-08 season, Jessica McCann and Carley Hrusovsky won the Falcon Invitational and won MAC Golfer of the Week honors.

Her final score of 226 (77-73-76) at the Zippy Invitational is the third-best 54-hole score in the history of Bowling Green women's golf. Only one Falcon has surpassed Grunden's 226 in the last 25 years.

Grunden has a per-round average of 78.00 through 8 rounds this season. At this pace, Grunden will break the school record per-round average of 78.54. That record was established by Jenny Schnipke during the 2003-04 season.
