Dee Brown Named MAC East Player of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University sophomore guard Dee Brown was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week Monday after leading the Falcons to a 2-0 week.
In Bowling Green's balanced offensive attack, Brown averaged just 10.0 points per game but shot 56 percent from the field, picking up 5.5 rebounds, and averaged 32.0 minutes per contest as the Falcons beat Savannah State 59-51 and won a non-conference road game for the first time since 2007-08 with a 67-46 victory over Fordham.
Brown played a critical role in the victory over Fordham, scoring eight points during a 14-0 run late in the first half that put Bowling Green on top 34-18 at the half. He finished the contest with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting and added a career-high seven rebounds. The win snapped the Falcons nine-game losing streak in non-conference road contests. Brown added two assists in the game as well.
Bowling Green has now won three straight games to improve to 4-3 on the season. The Falcons have clamped down defensively, holding opponents to just 53.0 points per game in the win streak. Bowling Green will play the second of five consecutive road games Saturday when the Falcons return to New York to play Canisius at 7:00 p.m.
