THE GAME
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team, coming off another narrow win in Mid-American Conference play, returns home to close the month of February ... the Falcons of head coach Curt Miller face Kent State University in Saturday (Feb. 28) action, with tipoff scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at venerable Anderson Arena (3,500) ... the game will be televised by Fox Sports Ohio, with Jeff Phelps and Mark Ehlen mikeside ... following the KSU contest, the Falcons will hit the road for the final time in the regular season, taking on Miami University on Wednesday night (March 4) ... BGSU already has clinched the East Division title, the school's fifth-straight divisional crown.
GOLDEN NUGGET: BG SENIOR SETS MAC RECORD WIN TOTAL
Lindsey Goldsberry, the lone senior on the 2008-09 Falcon squad, has experienced success - a lot of success - since her arrival on campus ... after Wednesday's (Feb. 25) 89-82 overtime win at Buffalo, Goldsberry is now the winningest player - man or woman - in MAC basketball history ... the Falcons have a record of 109-17 since 'Golds' ventured to Northwest Ohio prior to the start of the 2005-06 season ... the old record was held by last year's BGSU women's basketball senior class, which consisted of Kate Achter and Whitney Taylor ... that duo helped the Falcons go 108-23 during their stellar careers ... the Falcons had at least 26 wins in each of Goldsberry's first three seasons, and have 24 more this year ... BG is now 57-4 in MAC regular-season play during Goldsberry's four years.
MILLER MOVING UP
Wednesday's (Feb. 25) win at Buffalo enabled Falcon head coach Curt Miller to move up on several MAC lists ... the victory was the 92nd conference win since Miller came to BG, tying the school record and deadlocking him for eighth in MAC history ... Miller is tied with Jaci Clark at the top of the BGSU list ... here's that list (note: Voll also coached at MAC member Central Michigan; only his BGSU win-loss record is listed below) ...
BGSU RECORD BOOK, MOST MAC WINS
T1 -- Jaci Clark (92-32)
T1 -- Curt Miller (92-33)
3 -- Fran Voll (89-27) (at BGSU only)
MILLER MOVING UP II
The win at Buffalo enabled Falcon head coach Curt Miller to move up on the MAC list for overall wins ... Miller now has a total of 174 wins since coming to BGSU, tying him for fourth place with current Miami head coach Maria Fantanarosa ... the coach who will be on the other bench Saturday afternoon, Kent State's Bob Lindsay, tops both conference lists, with 370 overall wins and 230 MAC victories ... the complete lists can be found in the comprehensive PDF version of these notes.
PINK ZONE/NAT'L GIRLS & WOMEN IN SPORTS/ALUMNAE DAY
Saturday's game features a number of promotions ... all fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of the WBCA Pink Zone initiative for breast cancer awareness ... additionally, Saturday marks National Girls & Women in Sports Day, which was developed to celebrate female accomplishment in sport ... and, the KSU game marks BGSU Women's Basketball Alumnae Day, as a multitude of letterwinners and former coaches from all BGSU women's sports have been invited back to campus to participate in various activities throughout the day.
5 FOR 5: PONTIUS IN THE ZONE IN OVERTIME
The phrase 'in the zone' never seemed more applicable than in the overtime session at Buffalo Wednesday (Feb. 25) ... Falcon sophomore Tracy Pontius - number five in your program, but probably number one in Falcon fans' hearts that evening - scored 17 points in the five-minute OT period ... Pontius, who had 10 points in regulation, was 5-for-5 from three-point land in the extra session, hitting triples on five consecutive BG possessions ... the NCAA record book does not list the record for points in an overtime period by an individual, but Pontius was only five points away from the former NCAA Division-I mark for points in an OT period by an entire team.
TWO NCAA RECORDS SET IN BUFFALO
Wednesday's game at Buffalo saw a pair of NCAA records fall ... the Falcons scored 23 points in the overtime period, and the teams combined for a total of 39 points during that five-minute span ... the two teams combined to shoot 70.0 percent in the overtime, as the Falcons were an incredible 7-for-8 from the field, while the Bulls were 7-of-12 ... UB made seven of the first eight shots before missing four in a row to end the game.
NCAA DIVISION-I RECORDS, POINTS IN ONE OT PERIOD
23 - BOWLING GREEN (89) vs. Buffalo (82); Feb. 25, 2009
22 - Maine (86) vs. Stetson (78); Dec. 30, 1989
22 - Oklahoma City (104) vs. New Orleans (91); Feb. 16, 1985
22 - Long Beach State (91) vs. San Diego State (73); March 22, 1984
NCAA RECORDS, POINTS IN ONE OT PERIOD, BOTH TEAMS
39 - BOWLING GREEN (23) vs. Buffalo (16); Feb. 25, 2009
36 - Maine (22) vs. Stetson (14); Dec. 30, 1989
ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER RECORD
It seems that some sort of record is set every time the Falcons take the floor ... BGSU has set or tied school records in each of the last three games ...
• Against Central Michigan (Feb 15), sophomore Lauren Prochaska shattered the school single-game record with 43 points;
• Six days later (Feb. 21), Prochaska tied the school record for free-throw percentage, going 12-for-12 from the stripe in a win at Akron; and
• On Wednesday (Feb. 25), the Falcons set a new record for team free-throw pct. in a game, going 24-for-24 in the win at Buffalo.
24-FOR-24: JACK BAUER WOULD BE PROUD
The Falcons' propensity for making free throws was a big key in the win at Buffalo ... BGSU's 24-for-24 effort from the stripe set a school - and a MAC - record for free-throw percentage in a game ... the Falcons had shot a perfect 100 percent on a number of prior occasions, but had never made more than 12 free throws in one of those games ... the MAC record was a 20-for-20 performance, by Akron vs. Buffalo (Feb. 24, 2007), two years and a day before BG's Wednesday win ... for what it's worth, the NCAA record is 31-for-31, by Kansas (vs. Nebraska on Feb. 11, 1996).
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Falcon junior Niki McCoy had a double-double in the win at Buffalo, with 16 points and a team-high 11 rebounds off the bench ... the double-double was her second of the season and the 11th of her collegiate career ... the first nine came at Akron, where she played two seasons before transferring to BGSU.
24 - SEASON 2: PROCHASKA NEARS 1,000-POINT MARK
Sophomore Lauren Prochaska has scored 83 points in the last three games ... after a 43-point explosion vs. Central Michigan, she had 25 at Akron and 15 more at Buffalo ... Prochaska is just 24 points away from the 1,000-point mark, having scored 976 career points in a BG uniform.
A FEW MORE NOTES ABOUT Lauren Prochaska
• Sophomore Lauren Prochaska has amassed her 976-point total through just 60 career games ... the Plain City, Ohio, native is averaging 16.3 points per game in her career, a ppg average which would rank her second in school history, behind only the legendary Jackie Motycka (18.1 ppg from 1985-89).
• Prochaska is looking to become the 23rd player in school history to reach 1,000 points, but only the second to do so as a sophomore ... Motycka currently is the only player to reach the millennium mark as a soph, on her way to a school-record 2,122 career points.
• Should Prochaska continue to score at her career average of 16.3 ppg - or at her season average of 18.2 ppg - she would reach 1,000 points in the Miami game on Wednesday (March 4) ... Motycka reached the 1,000-point mark in her 54th career game ... no other player in school history has gotten to that plateau in fewer than 72 games, meaning that, if Prochaska can score a total of 24 points over her next 11 games, she would be the second-fastest in school history to get to 1,000 points.
• Prochaska's 43 points in the CMU game of Feb. 15 set a new school record ... the next time out, at Akron (Feb. 21), she added 25 more points ... Prochaska's total of 68 points during that period set a new school record for points in a two-game span.
LAUREN'S RECORD COLLECTION CONTINUES TO GROW
In the Falcons' win at Akron, sophomore Lauren Prochaska tied the school single-game record for free-throw percentage, going a perfect 12-for-12 from the stripe ... she matched the record set by Talita Scott, and equalled by Sara Puthoff and Kate Achter ... Prochaska is not far away from joining that trio on another list, the list of 1,000-point scorers at BGSU (you can learn more about that in an earlier note) ... the FT list ...
BGSU RECORD BOOK, SINGLE-GAME FREE-THROW PCT.
1.000 (12-12) -- Lauren Prochaska vs. Akron, 2/21/09
1.000 (12-12) -- Kate Achter vs. Detroit, 11/30/05
1.000 (12-12) -- Sara Puthoff vs. Western Michigan, 1/8/97
1.000 (12-12) -- Talita Scott vs. Kent, 1/8/94
DRIVE FOR FIVE
On Feb. 15, the Falcons clinched the MAC's East Division title ... BGSU's 94-79 win over Central Michigan that afternoon, combined with losses by Kent State and Miami that weekend, put the Brown and Orange six games ahead of both the Golden Flashes and RedHawks, with five games remaining ... the Falcons now have a seven-game lead with three to play ... BG's title is the program's fifth consecutive regular-season conference crown, setting a school record and tying the league mark ... KSU won five-straight titles from 1997-98 through 2001-02.
BYE, BYE, BYE: FALCONS ARE 'N SYNC
The Falcons have clinched the #1 East seed for the MAC Tournament, and have earned a first-round bye ... BG's first game in the tourney will come in the quarterfinal round on March 13.
A WINNING MAC RECORD
With a 13-0 MAC record, the Falcons have clinched a winning league record for the sixth consecutive year ... the school record is nine consecutive winning records in MAC play, from 1985-86 through 1993-94 ... Fran Voll was the head coach for the first six years of that streak, with Jaci Clark at the helm for the latter three.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING: FALCONS SET SCHOOL RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE WINS
The Falcons have won 24 consecutive contests, the longest streak in school history, heading into Saturday's Kent State game ... the win over Central Michigan (Feb. 15) broke the old school mark of 21-straight wins, set by Fran Voll's 1986-87 team ... the current run marks the eighth double-digit win streak in BG annals, and the fourth in as many years.
FALCONS ARE STREAKY
BGSU enters Saturday's game vs. Kent State riding several lengthy streaks ... the Falcons have won ...
• 24 consecutive overall games since a Nov. 19 loss at Valparaiso;
• 17-straight games at Anderson Arena;
• 12 consecutive MAC road games (obviously, this streak will not be affected by Saturday's KSU game);
• 22-straight overall MAC regular-season games;
• 15 consecutive contests in the month of February; and
• 10 games in a row in the series with Kent State.
FALCONS ARE STREAKY II
• The Falcons are on a lengthy winning streak, having won 24 consecutive games ... BGSU also has win streaks against all 11 of the other MAC schools.
• The Falcons lost a total of four games to league foes last year, with three regular-season losses (Miami, Ball State and Western Michigan), and a loss in the semifinal round of the Kraft MAC Tournament (to Ohio in double overtime) ... BG has avenged all four of those losses this season, with wins over the Bobcats, RedHawks, Cardinals and Broncos.
• Since last year's loss to Western, the Falcons have won 33 of 35 regular-season games, including 22-straight contests in MAC play.
PUTTING THOSE STREAKS IN CONTEXT...
• According to the MAC women's basketball media guide, the Falcons' current 24-game winning streak is the second-longest in conference history ... Central Michigan holds the MAC record, with 26-straight wins during the 1983-84 season.
• BGSU has now won 22 consecutive MAC regular-season games ... that is the fourth-longest such streak in school history, and the sixth-longest streak in MAC annals ... the Falcons hold the record with 33 consecutive conference wins, from February of 2005 to February of 2007 ... BG holds the top-two spots and four of the top-six places on that list.
LONGEST MAC WINNING STREAK (REGULAR SEASON)
33 -- BOWLING GREEN -- 2/23/05 to 2/20/07
23 -- BOWLING GREEN -- 2/13/88 to 1/3/90
22 -- BOWLING GREEN -- 2/2/08 to present
22 -- Kent State -- 3/1/97 to 1/6/99
22 -- Central Michigan -- 1/4/84 - 1/12/85
21 -- BOWLING GREEN -- 3/1/86 to 1/6/88
STREAK IS ONE OF LONGEST IN NATION
The Falcons' 24-game winning streak is the second-longest active streak in the nation ... only Connecticut is ahead of the Falcons on that list.
HOME STREAK IS PRETTY LENGTHY, TOO
BGSU has a 16-game home winning streak, which also ranks among the longest in the nation ... the Falcons won the last five contests of 2007-08 at venerable Anderson Arena, and BG has begun the '08-09 campaign with 11-straight wins at 'The House That Roars' ... the list of current active homecourt win streaks, just like the list of overall win streaks, is in the PDF at the top o' the page.
ABOUT THE FALCONS
• The Falcons are 24-2 on the season, and BGSU is ranked 25th in the nation in the latest USA Today ESPN poll ... after opening the year with road losses against Temple and Valparaiso, BGSU has won a school record 24-straight games heading into Saturday's Kent State contest ... BG won 11 non-conference games for the third consecutive year, then went 5-0 in the first round-robin swing through the MAC's East Division and 6-0 against the West ... the Falcons closed cross-divisional play with a pair of home wins, a 70-53 victory over arch-rival Toledo (Feb. 12) and a 94-79 decision against Central Michigan (Feb. 15), before beginning the second trip through the East with road wins over Akron (Feb. 21), 81-70, and Buffalo ... the latter game saw the Falcons win in overtime for the third time in the last four road contests, 89-82, Wednesday (Feb. 25).

BG won two tournaments, the UNCG Marriott Classic and the Dayton Flyer Classic, during the non-league portion of the schedule ... in between, the Falcons had a 4-0 December homestand, winning the first two games by a combined 63 points, over Detroit and Youngstown State, then downing St. Bonaventure and Hartford ... at the Dayton tourney, the Falcons topped Gardner-Webb and the host Flyers to win the title ... BGSU closed the non-league slate and opened the 2009 calendar year with a win at SIU Edwardsville, just prior to the MAC schedule ... senior Lindsey Goldsberry, junior Tara Breske and sophomores Tracy Pontius and Lauren Prochaska each have started all 26 games this season to date ... junior Niki McCoy started the first 21 games of the year, and sophomore Jen Uhl has been in the starting lineup for each of the last five.

Pontius, who had a career-high nine assists vs. CMU, leads the entire MAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.97) ... McCoy, who also has been named a MAC P-O-W once this year (Jan. 5), has 13.2 ppg, and ranks third with 5.7 rpg ... she surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career in the Northern Illinois game on Jan. 31, and had her second double-double of the season at Buffalo ... Breske has scored 7.5 ppg this season to date, while freshman Jessica Slagle and Goldsberry have 5.5 ppg apiece ... Breske has taken over the team rebounding lead, with 6.0 rpg ... she has averaged 10.8 points and 7.6 boards over the last five games, including a career-high 14 rebounds at Western Michigan ... Breske also tops BG in blocks (1.2 bpg) and is third in steals ... Goldsberry leads the Falcons in steals (2.0 spg) and is second in assists (2.2 apg) ... she also has an impressive assist/TO ratio of 2.07, but falls shy of the minimum number of assists to qualify for the league leaders.

BGSU won the MAC's regular-season title for the fourth-straight year, posting a 13-3 conference record ... the Falcons advanced to the semifinals of the MAC Tournament before falling in double OT ... Goldsberry, the team's lone senior, is one of the three returning starters from the '07-08 club ... Breske and Prochaska are the other two.

• Three freshmen joined the Brown and Orange this year - Maribeth Giese, Slagle and Victoria McGowan ... two other newcomers have come into the Falcon fold ... transfers Maggie Hennegan (Saint Louis Univ.) and Tamika Nurse (Univ. of Oregon) are sitting out the season ... LAST TIME OUT
Sharp-shooting sophomore Tracy Pontius exploded for 17 points in overtime, lifting the Falcons to an 89-82 win at Buffalo Wednesday night (Feb. 25) ... the win was the 109th for the Falcons in the last four years, making senior Lindsey Goldsberry the winningest player - man or woman - in MAC basketball history ... BGSU is now 109-17 since Goldsberry ventured to Northwest Ohio prior to the 2005-06 season ... Pontius scored a team-high 27 points in the game, including the 17 in overtime ... she was a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the three-point line in the extra session, en route to seven triples for the game ... the Falcons set a school single-game record by shooting a perfect 24-for-24 from the free-throw line ... seven different players made at least two tosses apiece in the win ... additionally, the game saw a pair of NCAA records fall ... the Falcons' total of 23 points in the overtime period set a new record, as did the two-team total of 39 points ... the NCAA does not keep records for points by an individual in an overtime period ... junior Niki McCoy had a double-double off the bench, with 16 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds, while soph Lauren Prochaska had 15 points and Goldsberry 10 ... for the Bulls, Kourtney Brown had game-high totals of 30 points and 14 rebounds ... Brown was 13-for-17 from the field in the win ... the teams combined to shoot 70.0% in the OT period, as BGSU was an incredible 7-of-8 and UB 7-of-12.
SCOUTING KSU
Kent State enters Saturday's Bowling Green game with a record of 17-8, and the Golden Flashes are 6-7 in MAC play ... KSU has dropped three of the last four games, with the most recent game being a 68-58 setback at Ohio Wednesday night (Feb. 25) ... the Flashes are 7-6 in away games this year, but just 1-6 in MAC road contests, and KSU is looking to reverse a five-game road losing streak ... Kent State entered the week ranked second in the entire nation in three-point field-goal percentage (41.1%), and the Flashes were 17th in scoring ... currently, KSU is averaging 73.2 points per game ... individually, senior center Anna Kowalska leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, with 17.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game ... she is shooting 53.7% from the field ... redshirt sophomore guard Jamilah Humes is averaging 11.9 points and 4.3 boards per game ... redshirt junior guard Rachel Bennett and sophomore forward Chenel Harris have 9.6 and 9.2 ppg, respectively, while freshman guard Jena Stutzman has 8.8 ppg to date ... Bennett leads the team with 4.8 assists per outing, while Stutzman paces the Flashes with 62 three-point field goals and is shooting 44.0% from beyond the arc ... Bennett, Harris and Kowalska each have started all 25 games this season ... Humes and sophomore guard Stephanie Gibson (6.2 ppg, 51.9% from three-point range) join that trio in the probable starting lineup for head coach Bob Lindsay ... Lindsay, the dean of MAC coaches, is the winningest coach in conference history ... he is 370-212 in his 20th season, all with the Golden Flashes ... Lindsay has more wins, both overall and in conference play (230), than any coach in MAC women's hoops history ... he welcomed back eight letterwinners, including all five starters, from last year's club that finished 9-21 overall and 5-11 in MAC action ... the school's athletics web site is www.kentstatesports.com.
THE SERIES
The Falcons lead Kent State, 41-27, in the all-time series between the teams, and BGSU has captured 10 consecutive meetings, including a 77-71 come-from-behind victory in Kent to open the 2008-09 conference season (Jan. 7) ... the Falcons took both regular-season meetings last year, with a 90-64 win at the M.A.C. Center (Jan. 16, 2008) and a 76-68 triumph in the teams' last matchup at venerable Anderson Arena (Feb. 20, 2008) ... the Falcons hold an 18-10 advantage in home games vs. the Golden Flashes, and BGSU has won three-straight meetings at Anderson ... overall, KSU had won 12-straight meetings and 17 of 18 games from the Falcons, prior to BG's current series win streak ... Curt Miller has a record of 10-5 vs. the Flashes during his head-coaching tenure.
THE FALCONS VS. THE MAC
The Falcons have a proud history in the MAC ... BG enters Saturday's game vs. KSU with an overall league record of 319-139 (69.7%), the best of all conference institutions ... additionally, BGSU leads the all-time series with all 11 MAC opponents ... BG, obviously, is the only team in the league with a winning series mark against every other school ... and, the Falcons now have a current winning streak against each of the other 11 teams as well.
OBI-WAN HAS TAUGHT YOU WELL
It has been pretty well documented to death by now, but just in case you haven't been reading these notes for the past seven-plus years, here it is once again ... Saturday's game matches BGSU head coach Curt Miller with the man he credits for giving him his start in the coaching profession ... Miller spent a year at Kent State as a graduate assistant, and was a volunteer coach on Bob Lindsay's staff during the 1990-91 season ... the Flashes finished 17-12 that year, and enjoyed the second-best turnaround in the nation.
COACHING GREATS CONVENE AT ANDERSON
At least three of the finest coaches in the history of MAC women's basketball will be in the building on Saturday ... Kent State head coach Bob Lindsay is the winningest coach in conference history, and his counterpart on the home bench, BGSU's Curt Miller, is now tied for fourth all-time in overall wins by a MAC coach ... former Toledo coaching great Mark Ehlen, who ranks second all-time in both overall and conference wins, is also scheduled to be in "The House That Roars," as a television analyst for the game ... and, if former Falcon head coach Fran Voll stops by, that would make it a sweep of the top-four coaches in terms of overall wins ... Voll, who ranks third with 187 overall and 116 MAC wins, is a member of the BGSU Board of Trustees ... it is relatively certain that Miami coach Maria Fantanarosa, currently tied with Miller for fourth on the wins list, will not be in attendance ... her RedHawks play a Saturday game at Ohio.
PROCHASKA IS PROLIFIC
Sophomore Lauren Prochaska has had quite a successful season, to say the least ... on Feb. 15, the MAC Player-of-the-Year candidate did something no Falcon had ever done ... Prochaska shattered the school record with 43 points in the Falcons' win over Central Michigan ... she hit a jumper with 11:30 left to reach 36 points, breaking the old school record of 35 ... Prochaska made 14 of her 18 shots from the field, including a 5-for-8 performance from three-point range, and went 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.
PROCHASKA JUST MISSES MAC RECORD
Sophomore Lauren Prochaska's 43-point total vs. Central Michigan (Feb. 15) was just one point shy of the MAC record ... Kent State's Lindsay Shearer holds that mark with 44 points against the Falcons in the 2005 MAC Championship game ... KSU's Ann Forbes scored 43 points vs. BG in a 1992 league tournament game, while Miami's Amanda Jackson had 43 vs. UTEP last season ... Prochaska's total set a new MAC record for points scored in a conference game.
20 AGAIN: BG REACHES MILESTONE FOR SIXTH-STRAIGHT YEAR
The Falcons have won 20 games for the sixth consecutive year, a school record ... prior to the current run, the longest such streak was four-straight seasons, by the Fran Voll-coached teams of the late 1980s ... the MAC record is seven consecutive 20-win seasons, set by Kent State from 1995-96 to 2001-02.
BGSU MOVES TO THE TOP OF THIS LIST
The Falcons have won at least 20 games for the 14th time in school history, the most of any MAC school ... other than BGSU, only Toledo (13) and Kent State (11) have posted 20 or more wins on 10 or more occasions.
ATOP THE MAC: BG IS 13-0
The Falcons have started MAC play with a record of 13-0 for the fifth time in school history, and the third time in the last four seasons ... BGSU's 1986-87, 1988-89, 2005-06 and 2006-07 teams all won the first 13 MAC games of the year ... the first three teams went a perfect 16-0 in league regular-season play, while the '06-07 team finished 15-1 in the MAC en route to the NCAA's 'Sweet Sixteen.'
THE FALCONS ARE ...
• 174-70 since Curt Miller took the BGSU helm in May of 2001;
• 92-33 in MAC games in that time:
• 165-51 in the six-plus years since Miller's assistant coaches have all been in place (associate head coach Jennifer Roos and assistant coach Brandi Poole have been on Miller's staff since his first year; assistant Kevin Eckert joined the staff one year later);
• 153-35 over the last five-plus years, with 2008-09 marking BG's sixth-straight season of at least 20 wins;
• a staggering 132-25 in the past four-plus years, with no fewer than 24 wins in each year (including this year) and a MAC regular-season title in every season;
• an eye-popping 109-17 overall and 57-4 in the MAC regular season in the last three-plus years, since senior Lindsey Goldsberry ventured to Northwest Ohio;
• 81-14 in the last two-plus years, including a 41-4 conference ledger, since juniors Tara Breske, Laura Bugher and Sarah Clapper joined the program;
• 50-10 overall, and 26-3 in MAC regular-season games, since sophomores Chelsea Albert, Tracy Pontius, Lauren Prochaska, Jen Uhl and Kelly Zuercher began their respective playing careers at BGSU;

ON THE HORIZON
• Following the Kent State game, the Falcons head to Miami on Wednesday (March 4), then close the regular-season schedule with a home game vs. Ohio on Saturday, March 7.
• The Kraft MAC Tournament is fast approaching, with first-round games scheduled for March 11 in downtown Cleveland ... the Falcons have earned a bye for that first round, and BG's first game in Cleveland will be in the quarterfinals, scheduled for March 13 ... the top-two teams in each division earn byes ... unlike MAC men's basketball, where teams are seeded from #1 through #12, the women's basketball format seeds teams by division (#1 East, #2 East, etc.).
