BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University tennis team concludes a three-match homestand this weekend, welcoming two Queen City foes to the Perrysburg Tennis Center. The Falcons of head coach Penny Dean will host Xavier University on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 7), and will meet the University of Cincinnati the following day (Feb. 8).
Saturday's XU match will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Falcons' brand-new indoor home, while Sunday's dual vs. UC will start at noon.

BGSU is 3-0 on the young dual-match season. After posting 5-2 wins over both Duquesne (Jan. 16) and Youngstown State (Jan. 17), the Falcons christened the Perrysburg Tennis Center with a 7-0 win over Cleveland State two weeks ago (Jan. 23).
"We are looking forward to taking on two tough opponents at our new indoor home this weekend," said Dean. "We have really picked up our intensity in practice this week. We know that both Xavier and UC will definitely provide very difficult tests at all spots in both the singles and doubles lineups, and we are excited about the challenge."
Xavier enters the BGSU match with a 3-1 record. The Musketeers are coming off a 4-3 win over Akron last weekend (Jan. 31). In fact, all four of XU's matches this year have been decided by a single point. The team has posted wins over Florida Atlantic and Toledo and fell to Eastern Kentucky, with every match ending in a 4-3 score.
Cincinnati will take a record of 2-2 into the weekend. The Bearcats host Syracuse on Friday (Feb. 6) before heading to Perrysburg two days later. UC has picked up wins over Morehead State and UA, while losing to UT and Marshall.
BGSU is familiar with each of this weekend's opponents, and vice-versa. Both the Bearcats and Musketeers were in Northwest Ohio to start the 2008-09 season, participating in the BGSU Invitational on Sept. 20-21.
BGSU leads Xavier, 12-4, in the all-time series between the teams, and the Falcons are riding a four-match win streak vs. the Musketeers. The teams are meeting for the ninth-straight season in dual-match action. Last season, the Brown and Orange picked up a 6-1 road win over XU (Feb. 24, 2008). The Falcons are 7-1 at home, 4-3 on the road and 1-0 in neutral-site contests vs. Xavier, and Dean-coached Falcon teams are 11-4 against the Musketeers.
BGSU leads Cincinnati, 16-10, in that series, including a 7-0 win in the Queen City last Feb. 23. Prior to that Falcon win, the Bearcats had won six of seven matchups. BG is 9-3 at home, 4-7 on the road and 2-0 in neutral-site matches (one early BG-UC match is site unknown). The Falcons are 9-8 against the `Cats during Dean's head-coaching tenure.
Following this weekend's matches, the Falcons will play a pair of contests on the road, heading to Michigan to face Michigan State on Jan. 21 and Detroit the following day. After this weekend, BG's next home action will come on Sunday, March 15, against IUPUI at the PTC.
