A Few Notes on Men's Golf
The Falcons are averaging as a team 299.29 through seven tournaments this season, and are in reach of setting a new school record in that mark. The current record, set by last year's squad, currently stands at 296.0.
John Powers and Matt Schneider rank in the top-10 in scoring average in the Mid-American Conference. Powers is third with a 73.11 average, while Schneider is eighth with a 73.76 average. Both Powers and Schneider are within reach of the school record for season average, held by current head coach Garry Winger (72.40) in 1994.
Freshmen Parker Hewit and Drew Preston rank 30th and 37th among the conference field. Hewit is averaging 75.67, while Preston is at 76.22. Hewit and Parker, both candidates for MAC Freshman of the Year honors, rank sixth and seventh among first-year players in the conference.

Junior Matt Schneider finished in a tie for ninth in the 54-player field with a score of 218, including a 4-under 68 on the final day of competition, the second-lowest round of the day for the entire tournament field.
Close behind was fellow classmate John Powers who carded a 222. After opening the week with a 77 the Bowling Green, Ohio, native rebounded nicely, carding 71-74 in the final 36 holes. He finished in a tie for 15th.
Bryan Mitchell, much like Powers, got off to a rough start at the beginning of the week, opening with an 80, but rallied late, firing a 77 on Tuesday and a 1-under 71 this afternoon. Mitchell finished in a tie for 30th. Rounding out the Falcon competitors were a pair of freshmen in Parker Hewit and Drew Preston.
