TOLEDO, Ohio - The Falcons have an impressive outing at the University of Toledo. Bowling Green State University would record 40 top-10 finishes and have no athlete place lower than 18th.
The Falcons would also have 10 athletes finish multiple events in the top-10 places. Of these 10 athletes three would score in more than two events. This would be the highest total of multiple event top finishers this season.
In the 100 meter dash junior Shantell Lewis would place fourth with a time of 12.47 seconds. Sophomore Sarah Hooten would finish 12th in this event finishing 52 seconds behind Lewis.
Lewis would be one of the multiple tope finishers for the Falcons also placing fourth in the 200 meter dash finishing in 26.36 seconds.
During the 800 meter run sophomore Heather Conger would place first running a time of 2:17.01. Freshman Saisha Gailliard would follow four seconds behind Conger to place second overall. The Falcons would cross the finish line two more times with sophomore Courtney Krummert finishing seventh and freshman Gillian Allen placing 10th.
Sophomore Autumn Dettmann would be another first place finisher for the Falcons in the 1500 meter run. Sophomore Barbara Powers would be the next to cross the finish line at 4:53.78 placing sixth. Finishing a second behind Powers was sophomore Ashley Fischer placing seventh and three seconds behind Fischer was junior Carly Wells placing ninth.
In the 3,000 meter run senior Kara Butler would place first with a time of 10:16.27. The rest of the Falcon finishers would finish consecutively in the next four spots: sophomore Ashley Fischer would finish second at 10:29.29, placing third was Dettmann finishing at 10:34.87, next was Powers at 11:20.81 and finally freshman Agnes Kibor would place fifth at 11:32.44.
Senior Jamie Roflow would place first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase running a time of 10:57.66. Fellow senior Kylie Korsnack would place second running a time of 11:33.87 and junior Lindsay Conway would place fifth running 12:23.81.
Sophomore Brittani McNeal would continue her success in the jumping events placing first in the long jump, 5.93 meters, and second in the triple jump, 11.37 meters.
In the shot put event TaKarra Dunning would claim first place with a toss of 15.08 meters. Senior Whitney Hartman would place second with a distance of 13.84 meters. Freshmen Ashley Harris, Jessie Rowland and Katie Manocchio would place in the nine through 10 spots.
Hartman would also place first in both the discus and hammer events. Throwing 46.16 meters in the discus and 57.66 meters in the hammer throw.
Other top performance in both of these events includes Harris placing third and Rowland placing 6th in the discus. In the hammer Dunning would take second, senior Stacey Turak would place third, Rowland would place fourth and Harris would place sixth.
The Falcons next event will take place next weekend at the University of Michigan.
