
Hartman Shines On Opening Day Of Len Paddock Invite

Ann Arbor, Mich. - Senior Whitney Hartman had a toss of 57.02 meters (187-feet-1) to win the hammer throw and lead the Bowling Green track and field team on the first day of the Len Paddock Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan, Friday. Hartman's heave had just enough to win the event by 0.29 meters but was more than six meters further than the third place finisher.
Hartman won the event for the second consecutive weekend as she threw the hammer 57.66 meters at the Toledo Invitational a week ago. She has easily cleared the NCAA Regional Qualifying mark of 56.8 meters.
Kylie Korsnack had the next best showing by a Falcon on day one of the event, placing sixth in the javelin with a toss of 34.7 meters. Paige Lane added a seventh place finish in the javelin at 34.68 meters.
Barbara Powers finished ninth in the 1500 with a time of 4:43.30 for the only other top 10 Bowling Green result.
Day two of the event will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with the shot put.
