CARNEY INTERVIEW
PRONTY INTERVIEW
TUESDAY'S PHOTO GALLERY
In today's “Countdown to Troy” feature, assistant coach Mark Carney and senior wide receiver Tyrone Pronty sat down with bgsufalcons.com in between practices on Tuesday, Aug. 11 to discuss the wide receiver position.
Tuesday marked the first time in 2009 that the Falcons had two practices in the same day. It was also the third day that they wore full pads, as the Orange and Brown get ready to host Troy on Sept. 3, 2009 inside Doyt Perry Stadium.
The wide receiver position should be an interesting one under first-year head coach Dave Clawson. Gone are the familiar faces of Marques Parks, Jermiah Kelley and Corey Partridge, but there is still plenty of talent to go around with the pass catchers.
The Falcons will be led by 2007 All-MAC performer Freddie Barnes, who is tenth all-time in the BGSU record books with 142 career catches. The senior will be joined by a pair of classmates in Pronty and Chris Wright to form a strong base for the wide receiver position.
Pronty finished third on the team with 29 receptions, including a touchdown in a win over Toledo in 2008. Wright, who finished the year with 22 receptions, had a career-best seven catches for 96 yards in a win versus Kent State that same season.
Other wide receivers to look out for include Ray Hutson (two scores in the BGSU Spring Game) and Adrian Hodges, who had a 46-yard touchdown versus Eastern Michigan.
Only 23 more days until the home opener!!!
