Bowling Green Releases Basketball Schedules

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's and women's basketball teams have announced their 2009-10 schedules, including a full slate of Mid-American Conference games and non-conference action.
The men's schedule features ten non-conference games prior to the 16 game conference schedule and a home game for the ESPNU BracketBusters event on Feb. 20. The Falcons will play four of those first ten games at home, opening the season Nov. 14 by hosting Wayne State. Bowling Green will then play at Xavier before a home game with Wisconsin-Milwaukee Nov. 21. The Falcons is tentatively scheduled to host Savannah State Dec. 3 but that date could change.
The women's basketball team has a minimum of 14 non-conference games scheduled prior to MAC action. The team will open the season Nov. 13 at home against Chicago State in the first round of the WNIT. The Falcons will then play at least two more games in the tournament with dates, opponents and locations yet to be determined. Following the WNIT, the team will play non-conference home games against UNC-Greensboro (Nov. 27), St. Francis (Pa.) (Dec. 1), Appalachian State (Dec. 23) and Southern Illinois Edwardsville (Jan. 2).
Both the Bowling Green men's and women's basketball teams won the MAC regular season championship and competed in the postseason NIT. The women's team has won five consecutive regular season MAC championships. Both men's coach Louis Orr and women's coach Curt Miller were named conference Coach of the Year in 2008-09.
