Samuels-Thomas, Guy Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Jordan Samuels-Thomas and gymnastics athlete Breanne Guy.
Male Athlete of the Week
Jordan Samuels-Thomas, a freshman from Windsor, Conn., guided the Bowling Green hockey team to a shootout win on Friday night and a 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon against Western Michigan. Samuels-Thomas scored a goal and an assist in regulation Friday and then posted a goal in the shootout as the Falcons edged out Western Michigan. Saturday, his goal was the game-winner when he scored late in the third period for a 3-2 victory. As a team, theFalcons earned five of a possible six points on the weekend.
Female Athlete of the Week
Breanne Guy, a senior for Bradenton, Fla., won the all-around competition Saturday as the Bowling Green gymnastics team won its MAC opener over Northern Illinois 192.625-190.900. Guy posted scores of at least 9.700 in three of the four rotations, including a 9.800 on the balance beam to win that event. She added a 9.725 on the vault, a 9.700 in the floor excercise and a 9.650 on the bars.
