A Look Back: Falcons Smash Several Records in 2009

Complete Falcon Record Book
Much has been made about what the Bowling Green State University football team accomplished in 2009. They finished the year 7-6, advanced to a bowl game for the fourth time in seven years and smashed a handful of records, some which have stood for almost 25 years.
For those of you that are interested in records (you can view the complete record book at the top of this story) 2009 was certinely a year you won't soon forget.
After his 4,051 yard, 27 touchdown effort in 2009 quarterback Tyler Sheehan can now find his name at the top of the list for attempts, completions and yards in a game. He also owns several career numbers, such as pass attempts, pass completions, total yards and total plays.
And then there is Freddie Barnes, who ended 2009 with 155 receptions, blowing away the previous NCAA mark, held by Manny Hazard (142) in 1989. Just about the only record he does not now own is career touchdown reception, held by Charles Sharon with 34 (Barnes has 30).
If you keep looking through the record book it won't be hard to see what Roger Williams accomplished as a kick returner, who now owns the school record in kick returns and yards.
Not to mention, Doyt Perry Stadium witnessed a few record breaking performances as well.
