Woods Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

Bowling Green State University middle linebacker Dwayne Woods was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the week for his efforts versus Miami. The award was announced by the league office on Monday (Nov. 15).
The sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, recorded a game-high 13 tackles in the 24-21 loss to Miami, a game that was carried live on ESPN2. It was the second time this season Woods has won this award, the previous coming after the Marshall win.
On the season, Woods not only leads the Falcons, but he is also first in the conference with 111 tackles, which ranks sixth in the nation. Woods has chipped in with 2.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss, has two interceptions and two forced fumbles in his first year as a starter for the Orange and Brown.
Woods and the Falcons face Toledo on Wed. (Nov. 17) in Toledo, Ohio, a game that will be aired live on ESPN2, starting at 8 p.m.
