November 22, 2010 | Football
Eugene Cooper, a member of the Bowling Green State University football team, was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week, announced by the league office (Nov. 22).
Cooper had just two returns all night versus Toledo, but made the most of one of his attempts, going 71 yards for a touchdown to get the Falcons to within 26-14 midway through the third quarter.
It was Cooper's second punt return score of the season after opening the year with a 63-yard touchdown at Troy. He is the first Falcon to ever return two punts for touchdowns in a single season and is just one of five people in the country to have multiple punt return touchdowns in 2010.
Cooper and the Falcons host Western Michigan this Friday, starting at 2 p.m.
